Winter farm markets

Access to locally grown foods is whole lot easier with the addition of several winter farm markets around the state.

Wish you could get farmer’s market access to Maine grown foods year-round? While most farmers markets are closed for the season, several communities in southern Maine now have access to Maine-grown crops and cold storage veggies (like potatoes, carrots and kale) and Maine-made foods through winter markets and regularly scheduled deliveries.

Brunswick offers a weekly farm market with baked goodies, dairy products, meats and more on Saturdays from 9 to noon
at Fort Andross. In Portland, a biweekly delivery to Monument Square (pre-ordered via email) provides access to Maine-grown veggies, organic and natural meats, cheeses and yoghurts.

To sign up for the Portland market, email eatlocalallyear@gmail.com and asked to be put on the Eat Local Foods list. Other Portland resources: Food Now Buying Club and the Market House.
